I found these poems comforting knowing that no matter how deep the pain, no matter the anger, and we feel so alone in the middle of a raging storm. God will see us through. We will more often remember all the good times and happy memories and the love one shared.  The storm shall pass and the beauty of God's grace's we shall be blessed. And remember we are never all alone that God is there for us through each and every emotion we may have. Some may pass quickly, some may linger and many may come back but love shall endure all! Job 38:1-4 NIV:

Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm. He said: Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

God's Peace

God’s tender love and peace
Is what we all long for
In a world so hopelessly chaotic
So unstable and unsure

It brings stability to our minds
And calmness to our souls
For that is what we desperately need
As this world can be so cold

We need to have God’s peace
When turmoil’s in our lives
For God’s peace doesn’t depend
On the daily pressures of life

When we have those stressful days
God’s peace can often soothe
And bring us such a quiet hope
That chases away the blues

So when you feel the pressure on
Remember Jesus Christ
Receive from Him the peace He gives
As His daily dose for life!

The Many Different Seasons
There are many different seasons
In life that we go through
Times of God’s blessing and peace
And times of hardship too

No matter what the season
We find that we are in
God is there to lead us on
And give us hope within

And when the seasons of hardships
Have come into our lives
We can be encouraged by God
For our hope is placed in Christ

For we know it’s only temporary
And will change as seasons do
Though it feels like an eternity
And we wonder if we’ll get through

But God’s rivers of mercy
Flow down from heaven above
To bring to us refreshment
And to touch us with His love

So thank the Lord for the seasons
As different as they are
And for the growth that comes from it
Bringing change within our hearts

Broken Chain

We knew little that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left me peaceful memories; your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

GRIEF IS LIKE A RIVER

By Cinthia G. Kelley

My grief is like a river,

I have to let it flow,

but I myself determine

just where the banks will go.

Some days the current takes me

in waves of guilt and pain,

but there are always quiet pools

where I can rest again.

I crash on rocks of anger;

my faith seems faint indeed,

but there are other swimmers

who know that what I need

Are loving hands to hold me

when the waters are too swift,

and someone kind to listen

when I just seem to drift.

Grief's river is a process

of relinquishing the past.

By swimming in hope's channels,

I'll reach the shore at last.

When You Walk Through a Storm

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

When you walk through a storm

Hold your head up high

And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm

Is a golden sky

And the sweet silver song of the lark

Walk on through the wind

Walk on through the rain

Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on walk on with hope in your heart

And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk

You'll never walk

You'll never walk alone.

God's Rainbow

The falling rain dissolves into mist
and the thunder begins to die,
as the sporadic lightning fades
an arch of color pours from the sky.

Rainbows appear after mighty storms
when things look their worst.
Just when the sky is darkest gray,
out of Heaven does a rainbow burst.

God first sent the rainbow to Noah
as a sign that His word is true.
The rainbow's eternal message
still speaks to me and you.

The rainbow is a sign of God's promise
that He will guide us through any storm,
That He will ease all our troubles,
No matter what their form.

When you feel battered by life's storms
and you are filled with doubt and dismay,
just remember God's rainbow is coming,
For it's blessing you have only to pray.

Rain

Into each life some rain must fall,

but rain makes the flower grow.

The storms did come.

And the winds did blow.

And the rains fell hard on me.

But when the clouds parted,

I saw a rainbow and the sun

shined down on me.

So be still and know that

the storm clouds will go and

the sun will shine again.

You'll run and you'll crawl.

You'll soar high and you'll fall,

but pick yourself up.

image0022.jpg

You Can

Stay in the race God gave you to run

and when you fall, just know that

picking yourself up makes you strong

and the rain makes the flowers grow

The Seasons Of Life
Through the different seasons
In life that we go through
God still walks there with us
Through good and bad times too

We don't need to stop
And ponder why we're here
We just need to trust in God
That He won't leave us there

It is but for a season
That we are in this place
We need not sit and question it
Just receive His loving grace

Don't look around at others
They can't give you what you need
Just turn your eyes heavenward
And put your trust in thee

Hard times that you're facing
The Lord will see you through
To bring you to a better place
That He has planned for you

We may only call on Him
When going through bad times
But when things are going well
He's seldom on our minds

For even in the good times
We still need to look to Him
So we don't become complacent
And let our love grow dim

So trust Him in the times ahead
Even when you do not know
That He is there beside you
For He does love you so.

Till the Storm Passes By

Mark 4:39

"And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,Peace be still.  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,

While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place. 'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry, Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Chorus

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;

Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,

Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try,

For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by"

But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise

Where the storms never darken the skies.

Chorus

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;

Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,

Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

When the long night has ended and the storms come no more,

Let me stand in Thy presence on the bright peaceful shore; In that land where the tempest, never comes, Lord, may I Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

Chorus

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more, Till the clouds roll forever from the sky;

Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,

Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Psalms 28:7
